Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Eastside Athletics different?
Eastside Athletics is built on a simple belief that fitness should give you a stronger life, not just a harder workout. We combine evidence-based strength & conditioning, personalized coaching, DXA-informed training plans, and a supportive, environment where you’re taught how to train , not just told what to do.
We don’t rely on trends or quick fixes. We teach principles. We build autonomy. And we care deeply about the people we coach. Your progress becomes our responsibility.
Are sessions beginner friendly?
Yes! Our trainers work with clients with varying training experiences and will guide you no matter where you are in your fitness journey.
How many days per week do I need to workout?
Most people see the best results training 3–4 days per week, but your plan is always personalized. You do not need to work with a trainer for every session. Many clients see us 1–2 times per week and complete additional workouts through their TrueCoach app. What matters most is consistency and choosing a training schedule you can actually sustain.
How frequently should I see a trainer?
This depends on your goals and your experience level.
Newer lifters: 1–3 sessions per week
Intermediate/advanced lifters: 1–2 sessions per week
Level 2 clients: often shift to fewer in-person sessions as they become more independent
Our goal is to help you gain the confidence and skill to train on your own. When a client no longer needs us every week we consider that a success, not a loss.
Do you accept HSA or FSA?
Your training sessions may be reimbursable through HSA/FSA funds!
We’ve teamed up with TrueMed, a company devoted to driving HSA/FSA spending to products that are scientifically proven to improve metabolic health (like our services). You can use this link to determine your eligibility. We’ve found that more than 90% of people qualify.
What types of clients do you specialize in?
We work with adults of all ages, especially those rebuilding strength, returning from injury, navigating prenatal or postpartum changes, managing age-related muscle loss, or wanting a structured, science-backed path to better health and body composition.
How quickly will I see results?
This varies from person to person, but here’s what most clients experience:
Immediately: better sleep, mood, and energy
2–3 weeks: increased confidence, technique improvement, reduced aches and pains
6–12 weeks: noticeable changes in strength and endurance
12+ weeks: measurable changes in muscle mass and body composition
6–12 months: meaningful improvements in bone density, visceral fat, and metabolic health
Your trainer will set realistic expectations based on your DXA scan, training frequency, and lifestyle habits.
Consistency is everything. The more you show up and make sound lifestyle decisions outside of the gym, the more quickly and dramatically your results compound.
Do you offer online coaching?
Yes, for intermediate and advanced lifters.
To ensure safety, proper technique, and program accuracy, we typically require a minimum of 10 in-person sessions before transitioning fully online. This allows us to assess your mechanics, build your training plan, and ensure you’re moving safely and effectively.
Do you offer referral incentives?
Yes! We’re grateful when clients recommend us to friends, family, and coworkers. Ask your trainer about our current referral incentives . We offer rewards as a thank-you for helping grow our community.
